About Me

LouiseI am a communications specialist with extensive experience in media relations notably in the health and fitness industry. With clients such as the Victoria Marathon, TC10K, Pacific Cycling Centre and the Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence I keep at the forefront of trends and happenings in the fitness industry.

As a runner I also like to write about fitness topics. For six years I was editor of IMPACT Magazine in Calgary and have since written for the magazine as a freelancer. I have had articles published in Canadian Running and have a regular fitness column in Vancouver Island Almost Free. These articles you can read on the home page.

race guides

For the last 12 years I have managed the Victoria Marathon Race Guide, an annual publication that is given to every runner who participates in the event in October. It contains essential race info, maps and articles and for many is a keepsake and memento of the weekend.

On a personal note I have run the Boston Marathon twice, 2011 and 2016, and have participated in numerous half marathons. I am a run leader with Frontrunners Victoria, and enjoy sharing my running knowledge with others, and helping them achieve their goals. I also enjoy cycling and in July 2016 I rode the Cycle of Life Tour for Vancouver Island Hospice Care – a two day adventure that took in Victoria, Saanich Peninsula, Cowichan Valley and Salt Spring Island. Read about it soon on my home page.

My husband, Jonathan, and I have two dogs – Cash, a bouncy, goofy 7-year-old lab, and Sally, a border collie/shepherd cross, who is the ripe young age of 14. Both keep us sane and very happy.
